Rise Up for a Sun-Powered Planet

Day of action:

September
21, 2025

Sun Day is a day of action on September 21, 2025, celebrating solar and wind power, and the movement to leave fossil fuels behind.

Solar energy is now the cheapest source of power on the planet – and gives us a chance to actually do something about the climate crisis. But fossil fuel billionaires are doing everything they can to shut it down.

We will build, rally, sing, and come together in the communities that we need to get laws changed and work done.

The sun can power the world, you can power a movement.

Pledge your commitment to the solar revolution by drawing a sun. We are collecting millions of sunshines from all over the globe, unique artworks that symbolize hope and resilience, and a clean future for all..

In some communities, people are organizing parades of EVs or e-bikes; across the world people are making sure that homes with solar panels light a green light.

How can you show the possibilities for clean energy in your community? A concert? Tours of homes with heat pumps? The dedication of a new solar array or wind farm? A rally to change the law so it’s easier to permit rooftop solar?

We’ve got lots of ideas and resources to get you started–what we need is people who want to dig in and do something positive for the world.

Attend a Sun Day event.

Sun Day is our moment to come together for clean power for everyone.

If we can keep building solar power, we’ll have a shot to stop climate change - which is why it’s so important to stand up to the people working to stop it

On September 21st, we’ll be coming together to celebrate the power of renewable energy: from cutting the ribbon on new solar parks, to marching for laws to make it easier to benefit from renewables, to ebike parades and more.

We all feel better when the sun comes out, so let’s be the bright light of hope that changes the world. Join us on September 21st.
